New Translator for Pet Language...is My Favorite from April Fool's 2025
My favorite April tech-fools is a "Dr. Dotlittle" pet language translating tool. Followed by OpenAI's new language won't take any more of your š©. And one prank I actually bought. For real.
Ever wished you could talk to animals like Dr. Dolittle?
Well, thanks to Timekettleās latest innovation (and Nicole at Tandem Communications who sent this pitch to me), that dream is now a reality! Introducing Timekettle Babel Fish Translatorāthe worldās first AI-powered translator for animal languages.
Using advanced bioacoustic AI, deep learning, and extensive hours of decoding barks, meows, and chirps, Babel Fish Translator enables you to communicate with your petsā and possibly even the neighborhood squirrel.
Early test results include:
š¶ Dog: āThe mailman is obviously a threat. Youāre welcome.ā
š± Cat: āI knocked your glass over because I felt like it.ā
š¦ Parrot: āI heard what you said about Aunt Linda.ā
Weāre still fine-tuning translations for goldfish and turtlesāso far, itās just long pauses and āblub-blub.ā
Babel Fish Translator is expected to hit the market in time for the holidays. However, the Timekettleās real W4 AI translation earbuds will debut in May.
(P.S. I used ChatGPT 40 to create the image above. Thatās such a cool thing to play around with. Iāll show you some secrets for getting exactly what you want out of it in this weekās newsletter.)
Razer Gen Alpha Slang Translator
From the New York Times:
The gaming brand Razer tackled Gen Alpha slang with a YouTube video for the Razer Skibidi, which it said was āthe worldās first A.I.-powered brainrot translator headset.ā The headset can translate what others are saying and will also convert anything you say into something more brainrot appropriate. Very sigma.
Why go outside to touch grass when you can caress your phone?
Hereās my second favorite April Foolās: DBrandās āTouch Grass Phone Caseā ⦠BUT THIS ONE IS REAL ⦠and I just bought one. š¤£
Hereās what The Verge wrote about it:
Dbrand wants you to feel less guilty about having your face buried in a screen all day and not getting outside to ātouch grass.ā The companyās latest collection of skins lets you wrap your gadgets in bright green artificial turf so you can touch grass whenever you want, no matter where you are.
The Touch Grass collection is available now through Dbrandās website for more than 100 different devices with pricing similar to its other premium skins: $29.95 for smartphones, $49.95 for tablets, and $69.95 for laptops.
Despite the April 1st timing, the Touch Grass collection isnāt a prank, Dbrand CEO Adam Ijaz assured The Verge. āEach year, April 1st rolls around and companies trip over themselves to see who can be the least funny. We, on the other hand, take the opportunity to launch real products. Are they drenched in satire? Yes ā but theyāre real products you can buy.ā

Yahoo has a grassy keyboard too.
